Santo Domingo private tour

Price: 320 $

Santo Domingo is a wonderful combination of modern trends and ancient culture and a perfect destination for those who want to discover a history of a centuries-old city and enjoy the busy and vivid everyday lifestyle of its citizens. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 1992, Santo Domingo is a city with a preference of being the first in number of things in the New World - the first cathedral, university, paved road, hospital, tavern and so on.

We start our trip at 7 a.m. as the ride to the capital usually takes two and half hours including stops. Our guide will meet you with a bus right in front of the reception of your hotel. The journey starts as soon as you are ready. Stay focused as we have a lot of stories to share with you!

One of the benefits of the private tour is there is always an opportunity to make an unplanned stop or change the route and never worry about it. Here we are! Beautiful Caribbean Sea will welcome you while approaching to the capital. You will see the first city of the New World on your own and find out all the secrets this city is keeping for its visitors.

The first stop we will make is to visit a breath-taking natural cave “los tres ojos” (the Three Eyes) that shelters in its depths three underwater lakes. Every lake is filled with crystal water that differs by its chemical composition and color.

Then we go to see the Alcazar of Columbus and the Columbus Lighthouse. Containing what are supposedly remains of Columbus, the monument is both a mausoleum and a museum showcasing objects including a boat from Cuba and Columbian jewelry. Constructed of concrete, the monument is 680 feet (210 m) long. Its architecture has an interesting shape - a cross that represents the Christianization of America.

During the excursion you will dip into the atmosphere of the Colonial City in Santo Domingo, and you will be impressed by the grandeur of the Cathedral and the National Pantheon and many other attractions. Right in the center of the ancient city there are more than 300 old relics and monuments. Take your time and enjoy each place in your own way. Prepare your cameras for charming photos of an old town, a real fort of the 16th century and the first paved street of the New World – the Ladies’ Avenue, etc.

As soon as you are hungry and filled with emotions, we will stop in a cozy restaurant to have a nice substantial lunch and after you will have some time to wander by yourself and buy nice souvenirs for your friends and family.

Around 8 p.m. we will come back to your hotel and will say “See you soon, friends!”
